Why Organic?
Organic practices have a lower carbon footprint consuming less fuel and energy and emitting fewer greenhouse gases. They are grown with natural rather than synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, harsh dyes or bleaches.

Children with allergies and chemical sensitivity especially benefit from organic products, as conventional ones may retain harmful toxic residues. Even if you don’t have sensitive skin, organic products will just feel better against your baby’s delicate skin.

Conventional Cotton vs Organic Cotton

Conventional Organic
Seeds typically treated with fungicides or insecticides. Insecticides used account for 25% of the worlds consumption. Uses untreated seeds.
Uses GMO(Genetically Modified Organisms) seeds used for approximately 70% of US-grown cotton. Never Uses GMO(Genetically Modified Organisms) seeds.
Synthetic fertilizers used. Strong soil is built using crop rotations instead of fertilizers.
Requires intensive irrigation. Retains water more efficiently thanks to increased organic matter in the soil.
Herbicides applied to the soil to inhibit weed germination. Repeatedly uses herbicides to kill weeds that do grow. Pesticides used are highly toxic and known carcinogens. Weed growth removed physically.
Aerial Spraying used results in harmful drifts onto farm workers, neighboring wildlife and communities. Weed control through cultivation and hand hoeing. Uses beneficial insects, biological and cultural practices to control pest.
Defoliates with toxic chemicals. Use of trace crops to lure insects away from cotton relies on seasonal freeze or water management for defoliation.

Certified Organic
We’ve been working to promote and support organic farmers, producers, and consumers. We believe in offering an organic product that is truly organic and have worked hard to obtain certification to help ensure authenticity and quality.

Due to our unwavering dedication to organic practices and widely recognized certification processes, our organic products are currently recognized as certified organic to the Organic Exchange (OE) has Textile Standards.

We declare that OE and GOTS have inspected the manufacturing plants, yarns, fabric, finished products and packaging of our organic products and have found them to be in accordance with the international standards for organic textiles. They have ensured that the standard for organic status of textiles, from harvesting of the raw materials, through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing up to labeling have been followed in order to provide a credible assurance to the end consumer.

OE 100 Standard
The OE 100 Standard applies to products that contain 100% organic cotton including any sewing thread. The OE 100 requires that all of the cotton is grown organically and provides criteria for proper handling and tracking of the organic cotton through all the steps of textile processing.

OE Blended Standard
The OE Blended Standard applies to products that use a blend of organic and non-organic cotton or other fibers, and contain a minimum of 5% organic cotton. The OE Blended requires that the organic cotton is grown on certified farms and sets criteria for proper handling and tracking of the organic cotton through all steps of textile processing. This standard does not establish criteria for substances used during processing.
